Close your eyes
Imagine
A swaying field of corn
Ears sweet and tender
Among husks
Both dry and torn
Some lay broke and shattered
Amongst
The mounting chaff
Seeking resurrection
From the
Womb of mother earth
Each can tell a tale of
How and when or why
Down there in the terra or
Reaching for the sky
Some, simply stronger
Blindly forge ahead
Many just grow weary
Whilst others are born dead
Close your eyes
Imagine
This field of corn as man
See if you can tell me
A difference if you can
Within the realm of nature is
Our world not the same,
With one simple human difference
We have given each a name
