High Country Love Poem by keith brown

High Country Love

Rating: 5.0

Where the wild brumbies roam acrosshigh mountain track, the rain softly falls on an old tin roof shack

Where the wild brumbies roam across high mountain tracks
rain softly falls on an old tin roof shack
Where the stars shine so bright through the cold mountain night
We can make love by the campfire light

With you in my arms and the Stars up above there's nothing as sweet as a high country love

With the smell of the damper and the sun on the rise
A memory of night and the sleep in your eyes
Walking with you by aclearmountain stream
In the bush that we love and the girl of my dreams

With you in my arms and the stars up above there's nothing as sweet as a high country love

As the storm close in and snow flurry form
I'll keep you safe I'll keep you warm
As the cattle move down from the highlanders track
We're safe and we're warm in our old tin roof shack

With you in my arms and the stars up above there's nothing as sweet as a high country loved

I can hear a guitar being strummed gently- -I can see firelight on a man and a woman's face- -I can feel natural tenderness not only between that man and woman but also for the life they live and where they live it
