I checked her NIF and FVC
things were fine and steady
she was much improved
but not what you'd call ready.
I did my vent check
took an ABG and fled
ran it in the machine and
had it read.
pH good, CO2 okay
O2 was looking low
metabolism, A-OK
that's what the blood did show.
I upped the oxygen
checked the vent once more
left the ICU and
headed to the door.
Did my SVN's
did my PFTs
along with CPT's
as pretty as you please.
Another day, another dollar
that was it for me
another day of saving lives
in the role of an RCP.
