If I said I loved you,
if I said I care;
how would you respond?
could we become a pair?

If I said I loved you,
would you smile my way?
would you return my stare
and invite me then to stay?

If I said you're lovely,
would you laugh and blush?
tell me I'm a flatterer,
to speak such pleasant mush?

Tell me that I'm just a wolf,
who harbors ill intention;
and other unsavory things,
she hesitates to mention.

If I said I loved you,
would you walk away from me?
or would you take my waiting hand,
and spend some time to see?
