In A Dream Beaconed To The Tom Quad Mercury Fountain Year Mmvi

Through this window to the soul now time for eyes to open,
An end of this enigmatic game and the truth to be awoken,
From a dream a sign from Yeats 'in dreams begins responsibility',
This poem a true tale in hindsight beyond all realm of probability.

Adrift without direction on life's toiling sea man's compass did spin,
Awashed on an island of destiny fixed in place by a celestial twin,
A mythical shore where horses run free, the boon to the heart's creativity,
From when eyes first set an empty theatre of dreams setup for a nativity.

I lay down on a stage and ate hay with a lion in peace tame,
Then with merry friends in a courtyard with all surroundings in flame,
To a small figure of great power on which eyes could not behold,
Covered with blood by a well with a resounding truth to be told.

In dreams once more I walked in the grounds of an ancient school,
And I saw the being again beckoning me towards a prophetic pool,
In the drowning soul of a man from dreams a hand down for a second coming,
As written an angel had appeared to set my heart strings strumming.

As if time were turned on its head it could have been no other way,
An intricately woven tapestry as if man had lived many the same day,
Wrapped in a quilt sown from a divine thread you say I look a fool,
But you will question the mysterious reflection when you look into the pool.

A humble man without faith or destiny discovered, it seems a miracle found,
To what end this mystical story and do I walk alone on this sacred ground?
We have been fate's actors but now in enlightened free will we have a choice,
At this moment now sweet Lord give us crystal clear meaning in your voice.
