In A Success Driven Age Poem by Francis Duggan

In A Success Driven Age

I do not dislike them and i can honestly say
That apart from the views they hold they are okay
But tis our different opinions make us interesting some are known to say
And we all look at life in a different way,
You may say that person is destined to lose
Though you have never lived in his or her shoes
But in a success driven age compassion is rare
And too few for the feelings of others do care
In a success driven age only winners seem to count
And the efforts of the unsuccessful to nothing amount
The winners as usual seem to take it all
And the gallant losers so few wish to recall
And in a success driven age with the focus on greed
Only the most ruthless are bound to succeed.
