In An Insane World Poem by Weldon Davis

In An Insane World

In an insane world
How can a sane man survive?
The answer is he can not...

He can not without compromise
Compromise
In the things he believes in
Love..Morality...Values...

What choice does the righteous have
Other than go insane?
Insane by means of
Sticking to his guns

Even when the clip is empty
Even when the bullets are duds
Even when the thoughtless
Wear truth-proof helmets
And compassion-proof vests
Yeah.

How does a sane man survive
In an insane world?
The answer is
He does not
He perishes under
The weight of his own mind
So long as he stands firm
To the ideals
He cherishes
Love...Morality...Values
