In Between The Ribs Of Your Multiforme Soul Poem by Patti Masterman

In Between The Ribs Of Your Multiforme Soul

in between the ribs of your multiforme soul
a bargain was struck, and then
the veiled stars spoke, amid the waters of life
sun and moon grew closer together afterward, and distance vanished
in the expanded sky: a brilliant and black field of diamonds
that obscured the folded edges of time's symmetry
and upon the rostrum strings of the cosmos
life cried out it's name
only once
