In Darkness The Evil Slips In Poem by Michael Brock

In Darkness The Evil Slips In

Rating: 5.0

In darkness the evil slips in
the cloudy mind of ill
breaths upon the still shadows of myth
you turn toward the fire for warmth
and illuminate your faces grace
the demon begins his eating with glee
struggling to recover you try to wake
the demon taste the sweet sweat of fear
your soul it would claim this tonight

the door to your soul is open
the demon scream in greed
its need to feed its hunger grows
It's desire has lost all control
Nothin now stands in its way

The soul screams as the demon takes hold
the beauty wilts and lets go
the nobel views of right and worng
loose their hold as the demon feasts
in the gathering blackness of night
transformation takes place
the demon disappears

The sun touches the sky in the east
the monster open its eyes
the house still deep in sleep
the monster moves around
learning how to use its host
smiling, its deeds to bend
the heart of those that are at hand
the monster stirs the fire
the heat within its heart hot with hate
it begins to extract its vengenance, its pay
damnation begins today.

Sweet from the head to the tail. Felt there were further lines. Originality at its peak!
