In God, We Trust! Poem by Denis Martindale

In God, We Trust!

'In God, we trust! ' the slogan said, by faith that they were Spirit-led.
Perhaps to dream of better things in service to the King of Kings!
With signs and wonders, come what may, through all the times they knelt to pray.
In Churches here and Churches there, when sharing love beyond compare.
Yet when I saw God's far-off lands, I saw the war that each side plans,
When Israel faced the fear of death, combatting foes till its last breath.

'In God, we trust! ' each side proclaims through their agendas and their aims,
As mothers and their children wept at tragedies until they slept.
Beyond the battles here and there, let our donations show we care.
Let's persevere without a doubt and watch God's purposes work out.
Yes, all the while He sees what's done until the day God sends His Son,
When people shout, 'In Christ, we trust! ' just as the Bible has discussed.

The coming Rapture grants us hope to every Christian who must cope,
No wonder Christians kneel and pray for Christ's return upon that day.
