In His Arms Poem by Lydia Shivley

In His Arms

In his arms, it's like a shield. Nothing wrong could happen when I'm in his arms, close to him, feeling his warmth and hearing his heart beat. Before I'm in his arms, I feel like someone hopelessly wandering in circles and can't get anywhere, and its raining with snow and the wind is cold and unforgivably harsh when it blows. Suddenly I'm in closed in a worm blanket, and it shields me from the harsh cold wind. And the sounds of the storm is drowned by the sound of a steady strong and comforting sound of 'THUMP, THUMP' And the firm hug brings a warm feeling from my inside and makes me warm on the out. Amazing how in only one person's arms can make you feel like nothing could go wrong and how it can make the world seem so hard to live. But everything is peaceful in his arms and I'll close my eyes and hug him back thinking to my self, ' I hope this feeling will last, never to go away… and he wont leave me.' Then I look up to him trying to read his mood by his face. And he shows a smile and an automatic smile spreads across mine, It's a more than good feeling to know that the person you love is happy loving you back and and your both in each others arms thinking the same thing.
