In Longest Dream Poem by Dahey Sangno

In Longest Dream

Rating: 4.5

I am here to stay
In your longest dream,
Not as a phantom
But a tiny spark
For the fickle memory.

Fear me not,
I don’t mean to haunt;
Why would I,
For I am the one
You always loved.

Neither will I talk
Nor will I leave.
Listen to my silence,
Understand my gaze.
Absence is my presence.

I am still wet
With the tears you shed
On my humble death.

I saw your moist eyes,
Watery nose,
And hidden sobs
A day before
My mortal body
Was lowered to
A dark dungeon
For last and eternity.

But, yes, I did see
The rains paused
And the Sun beamed
From a hole in the clouds
For 26 seconds,
Glaring my eyes,
Before my entry.

Forgive me please,
For I sneaked into
Your private dream-
Just to be re-mindful
Of my transient
Existence on this Earth.

I am here to stay
In your longest dream.
