In Memory Poem by Anisa Tara

In Memory

I breathe, it ceases,
She breathes, she seizes,
A seizure, a fall,
One diagnosis to end it all,
A brain gone dead,
A girl on a hospital bed,
Ten months brought,
24 years to naught,
Death laughs at loss,
I didn't count love's cost,
Too much to bear,
She is no longer there,
Memories erased, from
an expressionless face,
If everyone forgot me,
Only your memory I'd need,
Mama who is that, who am I?
She saw me and cried,
My life ended that day,
Cancer wiped us away.
