In My Time Poem by Sammy Omotese

In My Time

I will sail like the eagle in flight
Tenacious as the ancient rafters
In my time
I will swim across the Atlantic for love
In my time
I will dwell among the emissaries from the right and gorge myself in excesses
When it is time
I will marry not colour, but a heart resplendent in humanity and nurtured in abundant affection
When it is time
I will reach out and touch the moon when it is ripest
The sun shall be my guide
And the stars my companions
When it is time
All the seas will merge and the rivers elongated leading to paradise
In my time
The blind will swim and not sink
In my time
Laughter will envelop the third planet.
