In Old Age/ One Never Knows Poem by Shalom Freedman

In Old Age/ One Never Knows

Rating: 5.0

In old age
One never knows
Where the next
Problem and pain
Will come from

Suddenly I could not walk
This morning
Suddenly my balance was shaky
Suddenly there was a fullness in my head
I had not felt before

Some die in an instant
And never know of their death
Some lose their life
And continue to live
Without knowing who they are

I hobble my way home
I rest
I am here now writing these lines
For how long I will write
I do not know.
