In Old Age/The Future Dims Poem by Shalom Freedman

In Old Age/The Future Dims

Rating: 5.0

In old age
The future dims
Decline is everywhere
Inside and out -

And yet
There is courage and will
And the effort
When one cannot overcome
To hold on-

There is too memory and appreciation
And love still
In its own quieter way
And loyalty-

And with all the contradictions and complaints
Still gratitude
For whatever well- being there is-

And the determination
To try to go on
As best as one can
For as long as one can
Somehow.

the old age lives long, lives peacefully, lives freely if the old age brings the power of confidence to live alone from the youth!
