In old historic lines of stately tone
The musty grave in shrine in wall
Lay and the bolts that fixed to the wall
Noble where it was enshrined
To turn they started secretly
Without a noise, a creak, a scream
And lifted the coffin lid by
Slow degrees erect
The Ghastly Maiden slow began
To stand erect with her wild eyes
And tresses of half-dishevelled hair
And looking round for a few minutes
Round she back to the grave fell
With wide big eyes of azure blue
Back fell she into her tomb
And Silence set again to mourn her by.
