In Silence And Sound Poem by Mark Trajano

In Silence And Sound

So fragile and resilient our heart is
unlike how city lights fade when passed by,
with such pace, light and relief, quickly die;
but our heart beats in turmoil and in bliss.

We really never knew exactly how,
we really never knew exactly why
yet these strange lands we cultivate and plow
giving tender care - not letting them dry.

Once, twice we wound our knees and tire our eyes.
Yet the cool wind whispers songs and lessons
While she tends to our struggling breaths and cries,
And she embraces our cold heart that cries.

We really thought we are on our final stretch,
We thought we are falling fast out from grace,
And the angels came in great robes to fetch
Our worn out expressions and brought to place.

Nice poem. I especially like the first stanza that says So fragile and resilient our heart is unlike how city lights fade when passed by, with such pace, light and relief, quickly die; but our heart beats in turmoil and in bliss.
