In Spite Of Myself, Life Goes On Poem by Edwina Reizer

In Spite Of Myself, Life Goes On

A room full of people
and yet I'm alone.
My thoughts are flying
around in my nest.
People are laughing.
Yet I hear no jest.
All of these people
see beyond my stare.
The moments tick away
and no one's aware
how my loneliness
consumes all I see.
I will slip out the door.
No one will notice me.
