In The End Poem by Miss Leila

In The End

Slipping, slipping, fading fast
The time that ever lasts
While silence gnaws away the laughter
Shared only in dreams...
The memories turn to shades
Run away, run away, run away fast
Its too late, the heart breaks
The soul left burning still
Unquenched desires...so afraid
The time has slipped away
Its too late...too late to turn back
And the futures covered in a shroud
No where to go, left standing in the cold
Darkness embraces the solitude in silence
Torn apart by the nibble and gnaw
Shattered the hope that remained
And still this burning Love stays
Its been maimed, tarnished, and torn
And trust has lost its sense
But still it forgives
And in the wreckage it does cast
This silence that seems to ever last
Through the darkness there is light
What's shattered could be fixed....
Even if not as it was...pieces get lost
But still there it is....hope
Undying like Love itself
But the silence...it still gnaws
And words once spoken drown away
Forgotten about
And inside this heart twists in agony
This unending yearning and burning inside
So much pain, it has to turn away from time to time
Have to run away, can no longer stay
Just take, take, take with nothing to give
Nothing but silence in return
What other choice is there?
Run as far as one can
But there's no escape
Still the silence
The silence that ate away the every lasting
That brings forth the darkness that shatters hope
That cools the fire to dying embers....
And turns the memories into shades
And in the end...
