In The Ferry Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

In The Ferry

In the Ferry

I met Mike and his girl,
Almost, of the same age,
We ignored our parents,
Destroyed old cultures.

We killed God and Jesus,
Overheard and escaped!

She spoke with swears,
At all faiths, religions,
He said ‘yes, ' I listened!

"We, the baby boomers,
Are cancer tumors…"
I said and went silent!

Looked at them and their gaze,
"We were good…" I told them.

In each look a question,
Felt obliged to answer:
"We rebelled and broke,
Diminished old cultures,
But with no replacement! "
