In The Long Winter Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

In The Long Winter

In the long winter, long, long
Hammers struck
Day and night
Night and day
Even on old Mtahleb:
The rocks slid in to the sea-depths
Giddying heights
And
Perpendicular to the bosoms of the sea

And Dawn tiptoeing came over the waves

And Day behind a corner watched and stayed.
