In The Novels Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

In The Novels

In the novels
Characters who sing
And versify.

Prose mixed with
Verse
And song
That flies.

Novels brimful of verse
At frequent intervals.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Daniel Brick 15 August 2014

Is this part of a larger poem? Because I was drawn to the type of novel mixing verse and prose and with characters who are apparently poets. The most prominent novel that fulfills this format to my knowledge is THE TALE OF GENJI whose character communicate always indirectly through the most allusive and elusive verse. These ultra sensitive aristocrats never express themselves without the veil of a poem with images rather than statements revealing their state of mind - their soul-state.
