In The Storm Poem by Rachael Flint

In The Storm

Skies shatter above,
Cracks of bright white
Stretching bony arms
To the edges
Encompassing.

As the storm rages on
My soul crashes and roars within me
Pounding in my chest
A lost heart
Weeping.

Restless reprieve fleets past
Too much too ask
To calm my mind
Rushing by
Rushing
