In The Subway Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

In The Subway

In subway

The Metro or subway
Rarely, my favourite!

Russians are exception,
Moscow's is full of art
St. Peter's is delight
Since they are
Literature, history,
As well as trace of
George Orwell's
The Nineteen-Eighty-Four.

They align with the doors
That take us to time of
Prisoners of Gulag,
(Alexander Solzhenitsyn's.)

"Brutal communists, "
Keeps ringing in our heads,
Thanks to the capitalists!

But here
I use them, not often
On and off, rare, random.

Yesterday's was the worst!

Heard a man asking time
Of someone, many times.

Finally, in era of the masks
Came along a young man
While coughing quite loud.

Not only wore no mask
That never covered mouth
And people were scared!

Was it his intention?
Why was he doing that?
Will our life be the same?
