In Your Eyes Poem by Mariann Gentile

In Your Eyes

Rating: 4.6

Your eyes, like two pools of water, gaze for a moment into mine,
I feel a strange sensation coming over me and I am gone from this place,
My feet lift off the ground and the world around us disolves,
Your eyes glisten like two bright stars, lighting up my once dark heart.

I am entranced, helplessly caught in you glance,
Unable to control my thoughts or actions, I idlely gaze into those deep blackholes, slowly pulling me in to a world unknown,
I cannot break away from this invisible force, even if I could, I would not want to.

The moment ends, the gaze is broken, my mind rushes back,
I realize then that my heart is beating faster than it should be, my stomach is turning cartwheels, my breathing is heavy and quick.

You look back again, another moment, a cresent moon joins the stars as you smile at me,
I am calm again as you and I are alone in this universe once more.
