In Your Love Dream - Poem by Erika Peace
You are caught in a brawl with your enemy fearing
The peace will never come;
You feel your heart pumping
The loud beeps you hear,
Like a thunderous night you walk away with fear.
You wonder if it’s your enemy
You care for or is it just rare to admire
Feelings as these.
You smear your love around
So that everyone knows you;
You whisper sweet nothings that seem so dear.
You ask someone what this really means
But you’re never given an answer;
Without trying to make a scene
You blow it off so that it’s not obvious.
You think to yourself is this puppy love
Without even knowing (what it means?)
You’re sick of all the madness that’s come your way
But in love with this person that interrupts your day.
The face you see so delicate and inviting
You reach to touch it
And your hand goes through it
Like the wind has blown it away.
The scent of peaches is like the cream of your day.
Somehow you manage to pout because your young and in love
And that you even catered to this dream.
