In Your Private Moments Poem by Francis Duggan

In Your Private Moments

Rating: 5.0

In your private moments have you ever wept for the past
For the good days for you that did not seem to last
Your legs wearied by time can no longer walk fast
And nowadays the clouds of your mind at most times overcast

Near the end of the journey that leads us to death
A short walk often has you struggling for breath
Most of us tire rather easily beyond our life's prime
Eventually we all become victims of time

Live in the now is the best you can do
This goes for everyone and does include you
Yesterday's babies are ageing today
And on their life's journey are on their way

Nostalgia gives rise to sadness as we come to realize
When you think of the past do tears come to your eyes
The past it has gone and the future is what is to be
And you can only live in the now would you not agree?
