[Incapable of retreating...] Poem by Johannes Jansen

[Incapable of retreating...]

Incapable of retreating, arrival precedes us. Do you want to arrive or just be on the way, the intractable situation asks, without avoiding a smile. The latter, we say, because we don't want to be finished before shifting time has fulfilled itself. Everything is possible. Nothing is possible. A game involving new departure and disgust. To give our existence a way to pass the time we play through the paths. All of them end offside, beyond the pale, some in victory, but victory has to be skirted round.
