In minor voices and slender anthologies,
Self-published poets and poetesses,
Even the major ones too have evolved in time.

It is a study in a handful of poems
As the criticism says,
He is writing poetry,
His books are on the anvil.

Even the starters turn into poets and poetesses
And the Ph.D.students
Into the novice critics of
Such a branch of literature.

Today the sly people are engaged in
Editing literary journals
And pushing papers
On their own new poetry.

The ragged men are the litterateurs
Of Indian English poetry
Picking ragged stuffs
Like the ragpickers.
