Individuality In A Dark Place Poem by shane bonter

Individuality In A Dark Place

this dark place i call home. these southern california streets are where i have grown. the unknown lurks around every corner. targeting the weak like a lion on its prey. i have fought to overcome the threats at bay. i have lived my life for me. and no body else. i will never put my individuality up upon a shelf. to let it fade off into the dark dusty reaches of my mind. because myself is the only thing i need to define. like morrisey said. i wear black on the outside to reflect how i feel on the inside. but i try to stay lively with color. to coat a wall with bubbles and styles is a joy that i love and will walk for miles. just to hop a fence and put on my tips. strieks magnums krylons and drips. styles come and go. its like a new adventure. every time the men come to paint me a new canvas. these southern california streets are where i call home. to run with a fashion. to be another clone. no i will not cave in my beliefs. because all i need in these rough streets is me, and for that fact alone i hold close to my individuality.
