Inescapable Poem by Je'free Y .

Inescapable

Expressed a thousand ways, expressing it again -
That if I look up to the acid stars above,
Down to the eucalyptus field of summer;
If I visit the lake, trigger a ripple on its surface,
Or rearrange the pattern of pebbles on the ground,
No distraction separates me from you,
As if verbs, nature, imagination, reality are all
A carousel ride that begins with you & ends with you.

If suddenly some dream or vision occupies my head,
Remember, I have a reserved space for your face.
If in this journey of time I lose you somewhere,
I can return to the places where your scent lingers.
Cycles of cold and warm breeze through my years,
And the Earth evolves, but not the season of you,
For in my world, you are the tide ever unchanging.
I can run to the edge of the sea or sky, still you exist.

You will find one day that hour of realization
That there is so much truth in destiny.
Disconnect from it all, yet you are linked back to me.
In the chain of your life, every loop reflects myself.
Cut it or break it, every fragment is made of love.
I head north. You head south. Somewhere,
An intersection has been designed. New roads
May be paved, but they shall stretch out back to us.
