Infant Mortality Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Infant Mortality

Rating: 5.0

What essence is life
When the destiny is morning dew

The gestation and labour anguish
Becomes regretful experience
When the sun disperses the morning cloud

Vanity is truly life
That escapes like a smoke
Leaving behind stubbles
While the crop is gone.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The dealt of little children between the ages of one day to one year is alarming and painful. Why do these innocent souls have to die this early.
