Infinity Poem by Jim Boone

Infinity

You've got Soul man
And you too sister
But far too few
Remember Spirit
While the Soul train
Keeps on chuggin
On the tracks of destiny
With fated motions
Without thought of Spirit
And the shackles
Of time and space without
Infinite life and knowledge.

The measure of a life is
Not to compare or keep score.
Time is a cunning fantasy
That weaves a subtle tapestry
Hour by hour, year by year
To bind the soul and blind
Its awareness of Spirit
With introverted vision.

The personality (the Spirit)
Temporarily dwells in the
Halls of the body human

Each body experiences birth
As do empires, and both
Eventually decay and die.
Advancing years, like phantoms
Sweep forever down the abyss of
Time and slumber on the bosom
Of forgetfulness.

The sands of time forever fall
But the glass is never empty as
It turns and turns; flipped by
The hands of eternity each time
Soul and Spirit reconnect and embrace.

'I remember, can see clearly on all
Levels and wow, what a trip that was.
I never imagined this would be the
Reunion I returned to; we always think
Our immediate 'cell mates' will be the
Ones waiting to greet us on the other
Side once Soul breaks free. Yeah, I see
One of them over there, but that can wait.
Wow, talk about memory: Then, and then;
There and now, ‘whassup? ' and forevermore.
People and entities; mile by mile, day
By day and infinity.
