Inhumanity Poem by Bireswar Halder

Inhumanity

Humanity - a lovely and very compassionate word
In human life, it plays an important role for everyone.
Sometimes we forget this quality self-centred as we are
And we behave inhumanly even to our close relatives and others.

A mother fulfills her motherhood when a child is born and feels lucky
She forgets all her pains when the new born baby cries first
Her sacrifices for looking after the baby are unparalleled
She does not know to retrieve from the predicament however dangerous.

But this angel-like child gets depressed without love and affection
Slowly he loses all hope of life if his parents are apathetic
Beautiful life becomes so terrible, he finds no light to live
And finally compels to proceed from light to dark finding no way out

Maa - the sweetest word in the world - sometimes becomes so cruel
That motherhood breaks into pieces if no bond grows
The relationship between a child and mother is pure and divine
Where no cruelty should find a place in both the hearts.

Oh maa, what makes you so cruel to bestow your loving touch
Who fights for life in ICU in coma and remains speechless
He wants only your blessings as if coming from a loving goddess
Please forget all his faults and bless your loving till his last breath.
