Inimitable Poem by Hannington Mumo

Inimitable

Not from glitzy stars do I perfection espy,
Nor Moon's struttings so wondrous deem;
Your unfeigned pulchritude's glittering eye
Illumines every dark labyrinth of my heart.

Though Sun's poses such lustrous gleams
Upon haughty crags her gaudy rays repose,
Your Nature-gifted orbs their mimicry dims,
Bestowing brighter beams upon my course.

And let flaming meteors dead and live alike
Their ersatz grins roar across mutest skies;
Such intoxicating blaze your smiling wields,
Which polite nerves past sanest refrain tries.

Should celestial pageants their fairest cast below,
Your most natural stunts would eclipse them still.
Peerless rules that angel-like unpretensious glow;
For, why orbiting dims where reigns genuine light?
