Inner Universe Poem by Jordan Dumer

Inner Universe

Rating: 5.0

Dark dimensional realm.
Scary endless void.
Forever remain distracted.
From the fear of losing oneself in deeper thought.
Becoming mindless practitioners of escapism.
Scratching only at the surface.
Through the art of frivolous banality.
Remaining forever mentally disconnected.
From the residence of our own divinity.
So, probe no further.
Into the ever expanding consciousness.
Of the ethereal world.
For fear of getting lost.
In the catacombs of self-discovery.
Reach not for the metaphysical stars.
In the galactic recesses of your psyche.
But remain forever busy.
On the materialistic plane of this existence.
Reach instead for the remote control.
Using inattentive entertainment as a mechanism.
To keep the door tightly locked.
Never entering the vestibule of your soul.
So, throw away the key,
For fear of the dark secrets.
Hidden inside the deepest architecture of your genius.
While keeping the mysterious quickly buried.
In the shifting sands of the super-ego.
Remaining forever blind.
From exploration of your own inner universe.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It's about my family who spends most of their time watching t.v. and playing video games. I can't, I'm too much of a deep thinker. This poem expresses those frustrations.

A great poem, some people just get caught in the trap of tv and games, then they find it hard to change their ways. A great write.
