Innocent eyes look out at me
How could she know what will be
Eight years old and full of life
Making war by terrorism is rife
Saffie Roussos died in the Manchester bombing
And now she is laid to rest without ever knowing
Life except as a baby although she wouldn't have said
That she wasn't growing up quickly without dread
Innocence is something terrorists would say
Isn't part of the equation when waging their war way
But how could it be that a little girl has to die
In a terrorist world for their point to fly.
