Innocent Night Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Innocent Night

Night

The night unfolded into dawn
And it was pure in the sky.
The night had been lost
To this day, this dawn.

I felt an eagerness in the air.
It brightened up like a flare.
It was so beautiful
It's meaning was wonderful.

This night belonged to all humanity
But seemed it only belonged to me.
The mysterious aspect of this time
Made it amazing and it was also mine.

This night was meant for you and me
And filled with mystery.
It was the night you were born my girl.
And your baby smile was the gentlest in the world.
