Insanity Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

Insanity

They told you to get over it,
It will go away in time,
And when they’ve convinced you
That nothing will bother you again,

You re-experience what first drove you away,
In one swift move,
You throw everything off the table,
The scream you hid,
Finds its way out,
Only more fierce then the others,
The tears stream down,
Like the flood gates had opened,

Then it hits you,
A pinch in the back of your arm,
Your vision blurs until there is nothing left
But the inside of your eye lids,
The last thing that went through your head
Was a simple ‘I’ll get out of here, ’

They told you get over it,
That it will go away in time,
But they were wrong,
It still hurts.
