Insects Poem by Ayn Timmerman

Insects

Rating: 5.0

Japanese beetle lace
hangs as delecately
as moth-eaten curtains
shrouding the field
where I overstepped
the other hacks
and despite this by
findings were inconclusive.
No one can be
sure of maggot-eaten
haunches off a grasshopper,
it is not their nature.

The bluebottle hospital
is overflowing.

Genuinely confused with the final sentence. Love the opening imagery. You are a smart, clever writer. With a keen eye. Develop, sharpen it. best care, sjg
