Inshallah, Reham Maula! Poem by Sumita Jetley

Inshallah, Reham Maula!

On Eid, a wish was born anew,
A longing felt, deep and true.
A past life seen, in dreams it came,
A house help's life, simple, not tame.

In Old Delhi, early morning light,
Sweeping floors, the air so bright.
With plants around and helpers near,
Crushing chilies, laughter clear.

Clothes swayed gently in the breeze,
Mali opened gates with ease.
A family noble, kind and wise,
In service, she found her prize.

In present life, she seeks the same,
With prayers and deeds, no claim to fame.
Serving others, kind and true,
In every act, the past life grew.

In her heart, she whispered low,
'Inshallah, Reham Maula, ' let kindness flow.
A life of service, humble and bright,
Guided by the divine's light.
