Insomnia Poem by Rimni chakravarty

Insomnia

Rating: 5.0

When you suffer from sleeplessness they say you are struck with insomnia
But why can't you sleep?
Why has sleep deserted you?
These disease has caught up recent like a flu
When we are busy at our harvest
When we are so earnest
To sow as well as reap
The crops for our benefit
We can't afford to sleep.
We have no time for wiping the sweat on others brow
We have no time to feed our cattle while we p lough
We have no time to wipe the tears from a strangers eyes
We have no time to smile to look up at the skies
And watch the birds fly
With eyes wide open on our beds thus lie
At night
We feel the fright
Of being struck with insomnia
This might be a phobia
