Insomnia Poem by Rokket Grrl

Insomnia

Rating: 5.0

I can't sleep, I toss and turn all night
The moonlight pours in on blankets wrapped tight
Maybe they'll protect me, or maybe they'll cause my death
They'll wrap too tight and steal all my breath
With lungs empty and heart broken
And all the words I wanted to say still unspoken
How will I live without you here
When I can't even sleep without you, dear
I can't fall asleep because I'm busy thinking of you
But when I finally sleep there might be dreams too
A tear slides down my cheek and slips through the air
Passing through the world without a care
Now I feel like sad is all I'll ever be
Because of the way you treated me
So creep out the door and don't make a peep
Because I'm still trying to fall asleep
