Insomniac Poem by Kaniska Canace

Insomniac

Rating: 5.0

I'm an insomniac
sleeping no hours a day
sleepless nights and trance less dawns
burying verve in gloom
withered away dreams of bloom.

Insomniac!
Ne'er did I weep
But had to sleep
to revive my wearied brain
to retrieve my garish shine.
Hard had I tried.
My eyes never ready to wink
had to do some blink.

'Ask, it will be given;
seek and you will find'
I did not search for sure
but wandered
Wandered my lord!
yet in wain.

You gave faint heart, uncertain growths,
ache in head
and scores of people bearing them hard
but the chronic malady you conferred me
a curse or boon?

Do
Some cure for my restive days.
For I tossed and turned
and kept on so for ages.
Elate me up heaven!
from this sluggish life
Bless me with some tranquil,
Help me burst the circling twinge
Untie the man who never slept.
