Intent To Slay, Intent To Murder Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Intent To Slay, Intent To Murder

Intent to slay, intent to murder
The Wind of Chill over the plain
Burst under the moon-light
And the night-rain.
Yet the fatigued rocks of the plain
Withstood
As for centuries had withstood
For to Pain they had been long inured
For when you withstand siege after
Siege of Pain, the harder you become,
Trial upon trial, experiment on experiment
And
You shall thus resist as the Rocks did
And do
The Rocks of the Plain for centuries.
