Intimate II
A Shakespearean Sonnet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When breath meets breath in cadence soft and slow,
Two souls converse where speech need not intrude;
In silent warmth, a deeper truths bestow,
Where hearts are heard though lips remain subdued.
A tender kiss upon the waiting brow
Bestows a peace no restless night can break;
It whispers, "You are safe, be still for now, "
And lulls the guarded mind its rest to take.
In shadowed hours where whispered truths are spun,
Fears, dreams, and secrets gently intertwine;
Till chest to chest, the weary day undone,
Finds solace in a love both firm, benign.
Thus held, thus known, in laughter, touch, and grace -
Love's quiet rites no time nor trial efface.
