Into Silence Poem by Sven Rhoads

Into Silence

Sitting at the shoreline where the sunsets below the horizon
Waves are crashing against the rocks and sand before me
I close my eyes and breathe deep the calming silence
To let my soul for once feel the sweet release

No more coins to pay the ferryman to travel
I'm letting time have the future unravel
To pull myself far from all the worries in my mind
And let the undertow drag them so far away

I am not sure where is my home
But I know my journey will lead me there
I'm releasing all of my stones
Into the river for I have had my share
Into silence I will purify my anatomy
Rid these toxic serpents of my memories
I no longer want to taste the tragedy
But expand myself into eternity

Waiting by the water for the stars to show themselves
As the moon will rise to greet her cherished son
Dear mother, I have gone to and from in my personal hell
Unleash the northern star and take me where I belong

No more tears to go upon the scorched dead earth
I'm turning this pain into my prosperities worth
To do the time that I must and find a new perspective
Maybe another go around for the things I rejected

May my home come soon in time
But I wont know until I have seen it for real
Until then I will swear this 'til ash and bone
I'll flow like the water that reaches the shore
