Into The Pot Of War Poem by Sam Boehms

Into The Pot Of War

A child he was
and now he's a soldier.
From baseball to bullets
although he's no older.
He goes into the pot of war!

A father he is
with sons safe at home.
The faces of the enemy
remind him of boys of his own.
He goes into the pot of war!

A teacher who sought
a future for pupils
now murders and maim
the youth without scruple.
He goes into the pot of war!

Come one, come all
come answer the call.
Come boys in their spring,
skip summer, skip fall.
Come to the pot of war!
