Intricate Pathways! - Poem by Suraj Motiwala

Use not the ladder to draw closer to Him.
this ladder made of desires and dust.
What shall ye do when the ladder is gone?

Use not this ink to pen down your emotions,
Emotions carrying your love for Him.
What shall ye do when the hand is tired and your ink reaches it's

Avail not from thy ears alone to hear His melody,
Use not thine eyes unaided to behold His Countenance, or have ye
thought what ye shall do when the smoke of grief or tumult of faithless
ones obstructs thy perception?

Countless are notions and whims and fancies that will banish thee from
the Placeless to heedlessness, or
Haven't ye been watchful as how every breath has taken thee more and
more far from Me*?

With wonderment and joy, I thus raise this call asking Thee again, 'O
my Lord, How shall we reach unto Thee?
And the answer came, 'Leave thyself behind and then approach Me! '. (1)
